Aveda - Black Marble

Aveda selected BLKBK’s Black Marble font for their 2016 Color Harmony Awards, held in Australia from August 15th - 17th; as well as the Spring/Summer '16 Collection, Love Your Hair Color campaign. This natural but elegant hand-written style headlines flyers and signage in Aveda retailers and training facilities, and appears in videos on their website. Aveda’s use of colour blends and fades within Black Marble’s letter body, complimenting the “Live Colorfully” theme with subtlety and sophistication.

Aveda was founded in 1978 by Horst Rechelbacher, in Blaine, Minnesota. Horst had a vision of harmony between beauty, wellness, and plant aromaology, and Aveda was to exemplify giving back to the world via environmental leadership, setting a standard of environmental sustainability in business. A-Veda, translated to Sanskrit, means “all-knowledge.”

The first Aveda shampoo was crafted to provide high-quality performance with botanical products that are safer to service providers, guests/clients, and the planet. Aveda was acquired by The Estee Lauder Companies, Inc. in 1997. In the year 2000, Horst left Aveda in the hands of new company president, Nils Conseil.
