Aveda - Black Marble

BLKBK’s Black Marble font was selected for Aveda’s 2016 Color Harmony Awards held in Australia from August 15th - 17th; as well as the Spring/Summer '16 Collection, Love Your Hair Color Campaign. The natural but elegant hand-written style can be seen headlining on flyers and signage within Aveda retailers and training facilities as well as in videos on their website. Aveda’s use of colour blends and fades within Black Marble’s letter body compliments the Live Colourfully theme with subtlety and sophistication.

Aveda was founded in 1978 by a man named Horst Rechelbacher in Blaine, Minnesota. Horst had a vision about harmony between beauty, wellness, and plant aromaology. In creating Aveda, he wished to set an example of giving back to the world via environmental leadership and to set a business standard in environmental sustainability. A-Veda, when translated in Sanskrit, means “all-knowledge.”

The first Aveda shampoo was crafted to provide high quality performance with botanical based products that are safer to service providers, guests/clients, and the planet as well. In 1997 Aveda was acquired by The Estee Lauder Companies, Inc. Horst has left Aveda in the hands of Nils Conseil, who became the company president in the year 2000.
